The gray stuff was really acetone. When I pulled up the vinyl there was still a bunch of old glue, the acetone helped with scraping it up. The cement was some pre-mixed ceramic tile morter from Lowe's. It takes a bit longer to set than the stuff you mix.

I agree. Check out the video I have of my kids bathroom. I took the toilet out and tiled under it and it is more solid and looks great.

Wood flooring is a bitch. Ceramic tile is harder work, but it comes out so much better. In my case anyway. If you dont get all the gaps around the edges of the wood floor it will buckle and ruin the whole job. I did my old house in wood floor and in my new house did my little girls room in wood floor and my kids bathroom in tile. I will never do wood floor again after doing the tile. Im going to tear all the carpet up in the new house and lay tile. More power to you if you can do wood floor good

Thats the same thing I did. Before laying the tile my toilet leaked around the base. After laying the tile under the toilet it is solid and no more leaks.

Nice job on the tile. What was the gray stuff you laid down towards the beginning. When I did mine the cement to hold the tile down was gray and the grout was almond color. It looked like the cement you used was a creme color. I have only laid tile once so I dont know a whole lot about it. Just wondering. Nice video.

I have one, its called Timelapse - remodeling my guest bedroom. Soon to have another for my master bedroom.. The video is all done for the master, I just need to cut it together with some music.
