Subduction does not occur. There is no mechanism that could force a plate move laterally across the planet surface. They aren't masses floating on water that can be blown by the wind, and no other potential force for causing subduction is ever suggested. Granite and lower levels basalt would both be subducted, yet only basalt is appears where plates spread. What happened to the granite? Nothing. There is no subduction.
